THE 2021 UPPER CLUTHA JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME 

For Junior Sportspeople

Do you know what the best foods are to eat before a competition?

What are the best exercises to do after a hard game of sport?

Is there a way to control your nerves before a big race?

If you’d like to know the answers to these questions and learn more about how to develop in your chosen sport, register now for the 2021 intake of the Upper Clutha Junior Development Programme.

Open to Years 9-11 students of all sporting backgrounds and abilities, this free programme will run from 11 March until 28 May 2021.

RUGBY:

If anyone is interested in coaching or managing the MAC U14, U15 and Girls 1st XV this year please send Hamish Crosbie an email: crosbieh@mtaspiring.school.nz


FUTSAL TRIALS:

Who: Year 11-13 Boys

When: Monday 15 February, 3.30pm

Where: MAC Gym

Who: Year 9-10 Boys

When: Tuesday 16 and Friday 19 February, lunch time

Where: Meet at the MAC gym


SISS MTB champs

Entries for the SISS MTB champs are open. The champs will be held from 12-14 March in Methven. Entries for all events are restricted. Schools will be limited to 4 riders each into the Downhill and Cross Country, and six riders into the Enduro.

All other riders must be entered onto the waiting list.

Entry fees are $35 for XC, $65 for DH and $45 for Enduro.

Please email sports@mtaspiring.school.nz or come to the sportshub to sign up.


TOUCH 

The mixed touch tournament is being held at the Wanaka Rugby Grounds on 28 February at 1.00pm.

$10 per team, Years 5&6, 7&8, 9&10, minimum of two girls on at all times. Entries close 24 February.

CHALLENGE WANAKA VOLUNTEERS 

Volunteering at Integrity Homes Challenge Wanaka is both rewarding and inspiring. Volunteers are the heart and soul of Challenge Wanaka and we couldn't do it without your support and passion. Race day is on Saturday 20 February based at Glendhu Bay and we are still on the hunt for some more amazing volunteers. Year 11 MAC student Cade Cameron placed second in the Novice Steer Ride at the Outram Rodeo last weekend. He will be travelling to Australia at the end of the year to compete. Congratulations Cade!

Open trial Tuesday 2 March, 4.00 – 6.00pm, Wanaka Rec Centre

You will all be contacted after the above trials have taken place to establish composition of teams, as this is number-dependant. Rest assured we are doing our best to accommodate everyone.

  • Please note above are numbers dependant - this last trial may also be open but will be advised after first trials have been undertaken.
