PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE

Wayne Bosley —

Kia ora koutou

Welcome everyone to Term 4. The final term of the year is an exciting but nervous time for many due to seniors leaving after only four weeks for external exams. Our junior students will also be affected by the exam season with some restrictions on the campus. We are grateful to them for their support and respect which they always demonstrate in their positive behaviour and response to change.

Today I warmly invite you to our three award ceremonies that we have scheduled during this final term. Historically parents and family have supported these occasions in large numbers and we are looking forward to sharing student success and talent with you again in 2019.

Our Year 11-13 award ceremony is on Wednesday, October 30 in the college gymnasium beginning at 7:00 pm. This is much earlier in the year than previously but we made the change after a request from students last year. The NCEA exam season has lengthened over the years and our traditional date meant that many students were still sitting examinations.

Our two junior award ceremonies are in the college gymnasium on Thursday, November 28 with the Year 7 and 8 celebration beginning at 2:00 pm and the Year 9 and 10 ceremony at 5:30 pm. Once again we will provide a creche if families require child care support.

I look forward to sharing those three celebrations with you.

Regards

Wayne
