EATING THE WOLF

Year 13 Drama present “Eating the Wolf” by Sara Delahunty on Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th September 7pm in the MAC Performance Room.

Shake off the winter chills and welcome spring in with a rollicking tongue in cheek look at the place of young women in our complex contemporary world.

Be prepared for a twisted version of the much loved “Little Red Riding Hood”. This work also introduces characters from various fairy tales - but the story is not as you know it. Grandmother refuses to accept the female narratives in traditional fairy tales and rewrites the pages by confronting all who expect her to follow the plot laid out in story after story after story. What unfolds is a brief historical tour of feminism, exploring the internal battle of many women seeking to understand and find their place in a world that expects them to succeed at having it all.

MR RED LIGHT

Mr Red Light is a man who attracts bad luck. So naturally, when he tries to rob a bank he fails miserably – and ends up in a pie shop dealing with three very uncooperative hostages and the world’s worst police negotiator. As time ticks by, Mr Red Light and his captives play a game of getting to know you. With nowhere to run and nothing to lose, they form an unlikely bond.

Mr Red Light combines the hapless humour of Dog Day Afternoon with the quirky life-affirming charm of Amelie.

Presented by Nightsong and Tour-Makers in association with the Festival of Colour, directed by Ben Crowder and Carl Bland.

When: Saturday October 19 @ 7:30pm

Where: Lake Wanaka Centre

Tickets: $46.05 adults / $23 students (R16) from Eventfinda
