ACHIEVEMENTS AND ACTIVITIES
Here we celebrate student achievement and showcase activities our students are involved in around college.
MODEL UNITED NATIONS SUMMIT
On Tuesday, 23 MAC students from years 9 - 13 represented twelve different countries at the Model United Nations Youth Summit. They were joined at the Lake Wanaka Centre by students from Wakatipu High and Dunstan College.
During the day-long workshop, delegates debated the question of decriminalisation of drugs from the perspective of their assigned country. Our students negotiated convincingly and took well to the formal format and language required throughout the day. It was a great opportunity, giving our students an insight into international relations and becoming global citizens.
Thank you to event organisers Carly Green and Monique Kelly from WAO and the Otago / Southland unit of UN Youth New Zealand. A great learning opportunity for all those involved!
YEAR 7
Year 7 had their own #Tumeke festival, where students organised and ran workshops. We also celebrated everyone's culture with different foods around the world in a huge Year 7 shared lunch.
TREE PLANTING
Team Green organised a wonderful tree planting event for all the houses this week. Here are some photos from Iron:
