CENTRAL OTAGO SCIENCE FAIR 2019

On August the 1st, a group of Year 7 students travelled to Alexandra to present their Science Fair exhibits at the Central Otago Science Fair.

Congratulations to all of those students who participated. An Aurora award went to the following students: 


OTAGO SCIENCE FAIR 2019 

On August 11th, The Aurora Energy Otago Science and Technology Fair was held in Dunedin. This is an event for Year 7-13 students whose science fair entries had been selected through their schools science fair or at a regional event like the Central Otago Science Fair.

Seven students in Year 7 from MAC won prizes at this prestigious event.

Taja Rowan won a Premier Award. She won the Centre for Sustainability, University of Otago Premier Award for Sustainability with her entry called - Save our Earth. Taja’s prize totalled to an amazing $365.

Mia Cohen and Kaya Knights-Johnson won both the Plant and Food Award and the NZ Psychological Society (Otago Branch) Award for their entry called The Next Big Super Food. These prizes totalled $75.

Cody Labes and Joseph Combe won the NZ Institute of Chemistry Award and an Aurora Award for Excellence in Energy Research for their entry Ice Ice Baby. They won a total of $90.

Aria Winter and Olivia Shore won an Aurora Award for Excellence in Energy Research for their entry Flamin Firelighters.

All staff and students in Year 7 are extremely proud of the efforts and achievements of these students.
