SPORTS NOTICES
CHALLENGE WĀNAKA INTERMEDIATE TRIATHLON
Please see the information below from Challenge Wānaka about their Intermediate Triathlon Event (for Year 7/8 students in 2024) to be held February 2024. We would LOVE to see as many of our students as possible involved in this amazing local event. The students can participate either as an individual or as a team. If students are needing help to find some team mates, please let us know and we will try to help with the process. Please note that they have made a change to the registration process for this event. In the past, entries have been open until one week before the event. THIS YEAR the entries will close on the 1 December.
It has come to that time of the year again to start thinking about Intermediate Challenge Wānaka! We are excited to be returning to Glendhu Bay and look forward to welcoming you all to the event.
Entries for local students already attending or enrolled for 2024 open on Wednesday 1 November and close on Friday 1 December 2023.
We have decided to go for an early registration this year to assist with planning due to the high demand for the event. It also allows the children to prepare over the summer months for the race if they are keen to train. Any new enrolments to the area will need to speak with your school for further information about how to register for the event after the closing date.
Please click here for race information and to register for the event
It is important that you read all the ‘Event Information’ which includes Race Information, Race-Day Briefing, Race Rules and the latest start times, these can all be found on the Intermediate Page of the Challenge Wanaka website.

TRIATHLON
On Wednesday, 66 Years 7-8 students competed in the Central Otago Primary School Triathlon Championships in Queenstown. We had 21 students competing as individuals and 15 teams. The weather was perfect and the students had a great time. There was fierce competition with the students from around the district, with some very closely fought races taking place. Our students stepped up to the challenge and we came away with some fantastic results. Special thanks to our parent drivers and also to Lana Whipp and Nicola Cameron-Small for their help at the event - you are all amazing!
