STUDENT ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Mount Aspiring College —

Here we celebrate student achievement and showcase activities our students are involved in around college.

YEAR 8 SUSTAINABLE CHRISTMAS MARKET

Congratulations to our Year 8 students who last week presented the college’s annual sustainable Christmas market.

Over the past month, the students have researched, developed and created products and services to sell at the market. The students’ brief included a need for their product or service to be sustainable through upcycling existing products and/or ensuring their service or product would not cause any further impact on the environment.

During the process, the students gained valuable knowledge and experience in marketing, finances and working collaboratively to create a successful business.

Students offered an array of products and services, including haircuts, Christmas dog treats, upcycled glassware, scented candles, chopping boards, sweet treats, wheat bags, beeswax wraps and much more.

Thank you so much to the parents, whānau, staff, and members of our local community who attended the market, and to our Year 8 teachers who provide guidance and support to the students. It was a vibrant and fun evening with many people commenting on the innovative, well-organised, and inspiring nature of the businesses our students created.
