ACADEMIC AND LEARNING
Congratulations to our 2024 senior students who achieved excellent NCEA results.
2024 NCEA results
Congratulations to our 2024 senior students who achieved excellent NCEA results, exceeding national pass rates and continuing a trend of strong results in recent years.
These results reflect our commitment to academic excellence and willingness to proactively manage changes to the New Zealand curriculum.
The college has been an early adopter of changes to the curriculum, enabling our students and teachers to be well prepared. For example, while NCEA Level 1 numeracy and literacy is a new programme for both our students and teachers, the college achieved a pass rate of 90.4%.
We are also very pleased to see an improvement in our Level 3 endorsements, from 6.5% excellence endorsements in 2023 to 18% in 2024, reflecting our increased focus last year on supporting students to achieve their endorsement goals.
Our focus is always on the ‘whole person’, ensuring we create optimal conditions for learning, alongside a focus on the wellbeing of our students. Over the coming year, we will continue to strengthen academic mentoring of our students through our pastoral care system.
We are very proud of our students for their effort and resilience in pursuing their studies, and grateful to our staff whose skill and passion provides our students with such exceptional support.
These results are provisional. The NZQA will publish the final results at the end of February.
NCEA Endorsements
This week, we held a special academic assembly to celebrate our senior students who gained NCEA Merit or Excellence endorsements in 2024.
Students who gain Merit endorsement have earned at least 50 credits at Merit (or Merit and Excellence), and those who gain an Excellence endorsement have earned at least 50 credits at Excellence.
We are so proud of these students for their hard work, resilience and commitment to their studies.
