FROM THE BOARD CHAIR

It was a pleasure at the start of a new school year to welcome our new students and newly appointed staff. This year it was a special pleasure to welcome Sally Hart as a new Deputy Principal to join our senior leadership team.

I was glad too to attend the Academic Assembly on Monday of this week. It was great to recognise the success of so many students in last year’s NCEA exams, and to introduce those students who will be in leadership positions this year.

I’m sure that another busy and exciting year lies ahead for the College. As my time as a co-opted member of the College’s Board will come to an end at the Board meeting next Tuesday night, I want to express my thanks for the opportunity to be involved in the governance of the College. I will be happy to offer any support that may be helpful to the newly elected Chair.

I’m confident that, with a cohesive Board and with a great staff, the College is well placed to meet the needs of our students by providing a positive learning environment. I thank all Board members for the time that they give freely to advance the best interests of the College. I acknowledge the important support that is received from the MAC Foundation and the Parents and Friends of MAC.

I extend my best wishes to all, and I will continue to take a strong interest in the College’s ongoing development .
