Kia ora and welcome to the library!

MAC library offers a broad selection of fiction and non-fiction books, graphic literature, manga, and magazines for students and staff to borrow, to support learning across the curriculum and encourage reading for pleasure.

Students are welcome to borrow up to 4 books at a time. Books are issued for 3 weeks, after which books must be renewed or returned.

Overdue notices are emailed to students every month. Books that are more than three months overdue are assumed lost and the replacement cost charged. If books are returned in unhygienic or irreparable condition the replacement cost is charged.

The library is open throughout the school day including interval and lunch time. No bags, no food and no gum are allowed in the library.

We are recruiting for student librarians to be part of our team. We are looking for students who are reliable, friendly, and hard-working. We need students who can follow instructions, and are good listeners and communicators.

The role involves:

- shelving books and tidying book shelves

- keeping the library clean and tidy

- stamping, barcoding, labelling, and covering books

- promoting the library, books, and reading

- performing other library tasks as required.

If you are keen to be part of the library team, come into the library to pick up an application form, fill out both sides of the form, and post it in the box in the library by the end of the school day on Friday 16 February.

You can use these volunteer hours in our library towards meeting the requirements of the William Pike Challenge, Duke of Edinburgh Award, or Students in the Community.

Happy Reading!

Ngā mihi,

Maia
