UNIFORM UPDATES

Mount Aspiring College —

We will bring you all the details around the pop-up store and the process for fitting and ordering uniforms here over the next few weeks.

Here are a couple of photos from the photoshoot held this week with some of our students wearing the new school and senior uniform.  It was very exciting to see the samples that were loaned to us for the day, and we look forward to getting some school samples shortly.  We understand the Uniform Group's shop is nearing completion and as soon as we have an opening date we will let you know.

The Uniform Group is currently working on their shop fit-out here in Wanaka which will be located off school grounds. The opening date and shop hours will be advised shortly, however, at this stage they are hoping to open during the second week of the school holidays to give parents / students time to go in and get fitted. The actual uniforms will be available at the beginning of Term 2. These dates are still to be confirmed.

The Uniform Group have advised their process around ordering as follows: the shop will be set up with samples of each size and style for students to try on. Each student will be fitted by one of their trained staff members, who will ensure the student gets the correct size and uniform for their year (junior or senior). The staff member will complete a price list form for each student as they try on the garments. The student / parent then takes this form to the counter and the uniform details are entered against the student’s name in their system. At this stage the parent can pay for the uniform in full, set up a layby, or request a quote if accessing financial assistance.

Once the uniform stock arrives, the Uniform Group will collate orders ready for collection.

The Uniform Group have provided us with an update on the uniform items available and the cost of items. This information is attached below. There is a fund available for those families who may need assistance. We are very grateful to Rotary and also to Community Networks for their generosity. Please contact the college through the learn@mtaspiring.school.nz email to find out more about assistance with uniform purchasing.

The Uniform Group is currently looking for staff to help run their store.  Please find the job description attached below - all applications and CV's should be emailed directly to retail@uniformgroup.co.nz

PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIFORM

With all of the upcoming changes to our uniform, we would like to remind the community that the Physical Education uniform has not changed.  It continues to be:

Black and gold PE top - singlet or T-shirt (price includes student’s surname on back). Plain black shorts. A change of shoes and socks. Shoes are to be gym shoes with non-marking soles. In cold weather, sports appropriate warm clothing may be worn for PE.

Students should be aware of when they have practical Physical Education and need to bring their gear.

As we come into the colder months of the year we are starting to see students turn up with all sorts of gear. The sports appropriate warm clothing should not be worn as part of the regular school uniform with a good example of this being a black puffer jacket.

If you have any questions around this, please contact your child's Physical Education teacher or Neil Stuart, our Head of learning area for Physical Education and Health.
