Damien Harris —

Kia ora Koutou, Welcome to our Week 9 edition of The Pipeline.

What a week it's been for our Mounties with them performing in our first school Production (in recent years).

I'm sure you'll agree our Mounties were OUTSTANDING!! A special thanks also to our staff who have been amazing, giving many many hours to ensure our Mounties had a production experience to remember. And lastly to our volunteers who helped make sure our Mounties were all set to perform, thanks for your mahi.

This is the second and last notice about letting us know if there's anything you'd like us to consider as we create classes for 2025. Please do not pick a teacher as this has in the past caused many issues with teachers changing levels (so not being available) or not being available for any number of other reasons, please tell us what sort of learning environment would suit your child (if you think we do not already know). Please also speak with your children if you are asking us for a separation from their friends (quite common) as this puts us in an awkward spot with kids and families who are keen to know why kids have been split. We will be honest about this so having conversations with your kids and/or families of their friends is a good idea, we will ask students to indicate kids they would like to be placed with (normally 2-3 of them) and we will work through these friends and do our best to ensure they are placed with 1 of them (if possible). Any considerations need to be emailed to classconsiderations@mtprimary.school.nz by 9am on Monday the 14th of October to allow us to get started on our internal processes which can take quite a long time. Your support with this is appreciated.

In more exciting news for our school we will unveil and open our new school waharoa, our new gateway which has been created in collaboration with Ngai Te Rangi Iwi by Stu McDonald and a number of our students and will not only make a fantastic addition to our tunnel entrance but also support our Mounties to know more of the history and key people of our rohe (area). Our blessing and opening will be next Thursday at 6:15 am.

Today our Roof over the courts project has begun! This is super exciting after what was a long wait. Big thanks to you all for staying patient and knowing we were doing out best to get this started as soon as. We hope to have this project complete in November.

This is our last Pipeline for this term so please enjoy the school holidays, after production our kids are tired as are our staff, please stay patient with us, we are people. People who are doing our best every day for each of our Mounties.

Thanks for your support.
