Peer Support Leader training - done!

53 of our wonderful senior students applied and were selected as Peer Support Leaders for 2022 - this is an exciting privilege and key role that we value at our school.  Their year started off with Peer Support Leaders Day at Lindisfarne, completing classroom and adventure based learning.  Peer Support Leaders are instrumental in welcoming our new Year 9 students to our kura.

"Peer support has been a great opportunity, because it has helped us seniors grow in confidence and given us a chance to be the person we needed coming into school. It has been so great watching everyone get involved in the activities, and giving things a go when usually they wouldn’t. I’m very thankful for the teachers, and the YMCA for teaching us games, and other activities so we have the resources to do well. I think this has benefited the juniors well because it has given them an easier start to school, and that they have people which they can go to for help."   Lucy Grieve, Peer Support Leader for Hiwi.
