SISS Junior Netball Tournament
Warm up on the first day of the SISS Junior Netball Tournament in Christchurch, saw our Mountie girls off to a good start.
The first game was against Trinity High School, it was a tightly contested game that we narrowly lost 13-16.
The second game was against Haeata, our girls played a great game winning 21-9.
The last game of the day was always going to be a big ask, as it was against a very well drilled Queens High School team. Our girls managed to restrict them to six goals in the last quarter, however Queens were too good on the day taking out the win. Great start though team Mountie.
Day 2 of the SISS Junior Netball Tournament in Christchurch saw the team start at 9.30am against Hornby High School. It was a closely fought game but we ended up losing 18-14.
Game 2 for the day was at 11.30am against Geraldine High School. Again, our girls played some good netball, but went down to our neighbours 31-21.
Game 3 was played at 2.00pm, where we came up against Darfield High School. Tessa & Delilah played outstandingly in the shooting circle with Karuwai (co-captain) and Nightingale playing tight defence. Midcourt saw Bella (co-captain) as a strong connection between the defence and shooters, with Hayley Milligan at WA, and Akansha at WD. The girls came away with a solid win 34-7.
