SISS Netball Tournament Week

Jackie Ryder —

This was held in Invercargill

DAY 1 our Netball girls had a very long trip down to Invercargill yesterday. And then had their first game in the SISS Tournament at 9am the next day. They had two great games with the girls playing really well as a team. No wins but they can be proud of their performance.

Day 2 brought our Mountie girls a win and a loss. The girls then had an awesome meal out at the Speights Ale House. Emily Rentoul our amazing tournament ref also got some amazing feedback yesterday from the Referee Coaches, keep up the great work Emily!

Round Up!   Senior SISS Netball Tournament 2023 - What a week! Many memories created, both good and bad. Long drive to Invercargill, but beautiful scenery. Big days at ILT stadium in Waihopai.
Māmā Bear aka Ms Campbell and Whaea Iri absolutely loved working with and alongside the Mountainview High School students who were respectful, polite, and competitive - they were impressive because they never ever dropped their standard of behaviour on and off the court - beautiful, talented, and clean players.

Emily Rentoul, thank you for your dedication and commitment in pursuing umpiring and always trying to improve and be better - what a great role model you are for our future umpires!

To the young ladies - what a blast! On behalf of myself and Māmā Bear - Good luck next year to our year 13's, Aiesha Ireland - powerhouse shooter and defender, recently promoted to midcourt as centre (lol), Kenjie Omotoy - tiny midcourt extravaganza, and Keely Jooste - dangerous midcourt defence! The rest of our team - I hope to see you trialing out for next year - this has been a very successful season.

Finally, thank you Jackie for all that you do to ensure that the ladies get to go on these tournaments. Ngā mihi hoki e Rāwiri mō tō āwhina ki a mātou!
Parents, thanks (for the home baking) for letting the ladies come on the trip with us. Nā Whaea Iri rāua ko Māmā Bear.
