Evita - (A production team’s view!)
Wow! “What a Circus, oh what a show!” From the lights going down for two hours the performing arts students of MVHS told the story of Eva Peron.
Wow! “What a Circus, oh what a show!” From the lights going down for two hours the performing arts students of MVHS told the story of Eva Perón. The music of the orchestra provided the energy and sensitivity as the ups and downs of this political figure unfolded before the audience. George Elder on drums, Matthew Creba and Katelyn Eckhold on saxophone, Frazer McLean on clarinet, Emily Duncan on flute and Ella McLean on violin seamlessly wove the music into the story.
The on stage performers were headlined by Rachel and Emily Duncan as adult and teenage Evita respectively, Oliver Barge as Juan Perón, Ella Craig as Perón’s Mistress, James Duncan as Agustin Magaldi and Noah Creba as the ever present narrator, Che. Supporting their performance efforts were our magnificent ensemble from Years 9 through to 13.
Their momentous on stage scenes included “A New Argentina,” and “The Money keeps Rolling in.” The student led tech crew were able to work in a professional manner, honing their expertise with our brand new auditorium theatre technology upgrade. We wish to express our thanks and best wishes to the Year 13s who called Evita their final show at Mountainview. And to acknowledge the assistance of a variety of people who helped make “Evita” possible!
