Anita Hayes —

The brilliant Nathan Mikaere-Wallis is presenting a series of 4 parenting workshops in Christchurch over the next 6 weeks.  Nathan Wallis is a father of three & foster parent with a professional background in child counselling, teaching and social service management.

He provides an informative narrative on how our day-to-day interactions with children and young people, significantly the early years, plays a critical role in defining later outcomes for our children.  With a reputation as a lively and engaging speaker, who uses humour & plain language to bring his workshops to life we wanted to make sure we shared this opportunity with our community.

We are sure at least one of these sessions will be of value to you & your family.  We included a short YouTube interview with him below for you too.

Nathan is well-known for his work with the Brainwave Trust and X-Factor Education. He has been a lecturer at the Christchurch College of Education, lecturing in human development, brain development, language and communication and risk and resilience.

Exploring brain development and parenting in more depth, Nathan Wallis presents this series of four parenting evenings in Christchurch.

  • Tue 20 Feb 2018 – The First 1000 Days
  • Tue 6 Mar 2018 – Parenting 2-7 Years
  • Tue 13 Mar 2018 – Parenting 7 Years to Adolescents
  • Tue 27 Mar 2018 – Behavior Management Parenting Forum

Papanui High School - 7:30pm – 9:00pm

Regardless of the age of your children or grandchildren, Nathan is encouraging parents to treat these evenings as progressive development and attend all four sessions.

Nathan has divided the talks by developmental stage for convenience, but each session will build on the last to develop a truly informed understanding of how your child's brain develops and functions. The fact you can apply it all to your own brain and self-control is a bonus!
