As part of our Inquiry into cultural stories this term we have been reading 'How Maui slowed the sun'.

We have read the story and then retold the story using artwork. It was interesting to practise lots of the maori symbols in our artwork.

We then used our artwork to help us retell the story orally. Basecamp then retold the story and we typed it out as a whole class in our own words.

Through reading the story we found out how the maori people used flax (harakeke) to weave and make useful objects.
