Chris Nord —

Namaste

I would like to start this newsletter by thanking all our parents for supporting us last week after the death of Judi Thawley. It was really important for us to be able to gather together and celebrate Judi’s life with her husband John and their two children, Andrew and Carlie. Judi was an integral part of our staff and was known for her openness and sense of fun. We shared many stories of Judi as a colleague and, for some, as a close friend. We certainly appreciated being able to grieve for her and say goodbye at the funeral. We were also grateful for the many messages of support for our staff over this time. So, thank you for caring for us.

Last newsletter, I discussed our assessment practices and how this contributes to the teaching and learning cycle within the school. While a huge part of what we do is based around student achievement, we also see a huge part of what we do at MPS is about building character. I have outlined our philosophical foundation for what we do and why.  Have a read here...

Following a number of traffic incidents over the past few weeks we have also put together a reminder on road safety around school.  Please take the time to read this as safety outside the school gates is the responsibility of us all.
