We have been having lots of fun in Basecamp learning all about different materials and states of matter. We have talked about solids, liquids and gasses and have been experimenting with different ways that we can change matter.

We experimented with dissolving solids in liquids, melting chocolate so that it turned from a solid to a liquid then cooling it in moulds so it turned back into a solid again!

Basecamp had a water challenge last week. They took home a plastic cup and had to hide a small treasure inside, fill it with water and put it in the freezer.The children loved bringing in their ice treasures on Friday and were full of great ideas about how we could warm the ice to turn it back into a liquid – great inquiring Basecamp!
