I would like to serve on the BoT because I believe it to be a way I can positively contribute, participate and engage with our School Community.

My Wife Rachael and I have two Children in the Junior School. Sophie who is in Year 3, and Charlie in Basecamp. Mt Pleasant BoT has had great strength through its members work. With most of the Board’s Children now in the senior school, I would like to be a part of the succession for the trustees, ensuring the strong work, and in-depth knowledge continues to pass through from parents who have helped evolve the school into the success it is today, onto the new parents who want to see the successful model continue to evolve.

The experience that I am able to offer our Board, School, and Community stems largely from my business background. Rachael and I run a small group of coffee businesses in Christchurch and Auckland. Alongside of these I have/do serve on other Board of Directors of both “For Profit” and “Not-For-Profit” organizations in different capacities including as Board President on two. On one Board I successfully presided through a full constitutional change and restructure, and on another a major merger and unified venture between two of the largest industry competitors.

I am born and bred in Christchurch, and Rachael and our Family have called Mt Pleasant home for 10 years. Many of you will have also met Rachael around about school or kindergarten, especially now as she works in the School Office. I am about for pick-up/ drop off and events at every chance I get, so please say “Hi” if I haven’t had a chance to meet you already.

We are proud to have our Children at Mt Pleasant, and I would like to contribute towards a community that makes living on our little hill so great. The Mt Pleasant School BoT is a great way for me to be able to do so.
