Canterbury Cross Country

On Wednesday 21 July, 14 students represented MPS and the South East Zone at the Canterbury Cross Country.

Held at Halswell Quarry, this event kicked off at 10am with frost underfoot and cool breeze blowing. 

The Year 5 girls were the first to race, with Juliet F placing 63rd out of 120 competitors. Adam M and Fynn H were on the start line for the Year 5 boys race. After getting a bit stuck in the melee getting around the first corner, both put the accelrator down to finish strongly, with Adam in 13th place and Fynn in 17th out of 128 competitors.

The Year 6's had a massive contingent representing the school, with Liam H placing 110th in the boys race. The four girls in the Year 6 race raced beautifully, with Anwen M placing 28th, Anna B hot on her heels at 29th, Tessa D in 73rd and Neve B in 78th place.

Year 7s were represented by Lucy S and Blake C. Lucy placed 58th out of 117 and after a sprint on the finish line, Blake C placed 48th out of 109 competitors.

In the Year 8 races, Kiera placed 66th for the girls. Three MPS students raced for the boys, with Johan R in 56th, James B in 58th and Zach D in 84th.
