That's right! School is back on Wednesday 31st January 2018!!! We hope everyone has had a relaxing break, and you are all set for another amazing school year!

Just a few housekeeping notices to get the 2018 school year off to a smooth start....

Hats

Hats are compulsory in Terms 1 & 4, please make sure your child/ren have their hats at school.  Please also make sure your children have sunscreen on each morning before school.

School Drop-offs

We ask that ALL children (& parents/caregivers) arriving at school before 8:30am, to please wait directly outside the office until the bell goes at 8:30am. This signals that teachers are now in their classrooms. 8:15am is the earliest that a child can be onsite.

Parking

Please remember the 2 minute drop off zone is just that – a drop off zone.

• Please stop your vehicle as far forward as possible to allow others to drop children off behind you.

• Do not park your car & leave it unattended in this zone.

• Please do not park on yellow lines, or drop your children off on yellow lines, this blocks the vision of the people on patrol and places staff, students and parents at risk.

• Please do not perform u-turns from the parking bays opposite school.

We have always had challenges around parking at MPS, post-earthquakes we have had permission from the owners of the section above the school where the shops were, to park there. This is a generous offer and we really appreciate how it has eased some of the congestion during peak times. However, please be aware that if you park there it is at your own risk and is not the responsibility of the owners. Please also be aware we do not have permission for our parents to park on any other neighbouring sections and therefore ask that parents respect this by not parking there.

Absences

If your child is not going to be at school, please let the office know. You can advise us via the school app, email office@mtpleasant.school.nz or telephone 03 384 3994. Please advise your childs' name, class and reason for absence. This is a Ministry requirement, so the more information you can provide, the better! We need to keep track of all children during school hours.

Uniform

Any extra school uniform articles you are missing can be purchased from Mainland Uniforms (our uniforms are stocked at their new store at 189 Peterborough Street), or from The Warehouse, Eastgate.
