Book Week is on the Horizon

Kristy Millar —

This year we are kicking off Book Week with the unveiling of the Judi Thawley Memorial Chair, we would love for you to join us if you are able. There will be lots of activities for students throughout the week to celebrate the magic of books, rounding off with our famous Book Parade on Friday the 14th..read on for more info!

Monday 10 September

We will start the week with a whole school assembly at 12pm and the unveiling of the Judi Thawley Memorial Chair, we would love for you to join us.

  • Mrs Thawley's Story-telling Memorial Chair

As many of you will know, we lost the amazing Judi Thawley at the start of last year. We decided to do something special to remember her by; and given Judi's passion for reading, for books, and for story-telling, we decided to refurbish her classroom chair, and put this in place of pride in our school library.

Friday 14 September

  • Book Parade 9:15am - All welcome!

For those new to MPS, here are some more details of what to expect.... this is the day where all children dress up!!  This is not a competition, rather a celebration of our favourite books, the books we love, the books that warm our souls, the books that make us think, the books that make our lives better.  Children (& staff!) are encouraged to dress up as their favourite characters to celebrate what the magic of books means to them.

If you are looking for inspiration.... check out last year's book parade HERE!
