Learn to Sail

Two beginner learn to sail courses are coming up at Christchurch Yacht club ( CYC- Moncks Bay)

JUNIOR TRIATHLON TRAINING TERM 4

Do you have children or students that are keen on triathlon? Canterbury Triathlon run a triathlon programme for 10years+ children over the summer terms. There are two coached sessions per week (Thursday afternoon & Sunday morning) teaching kids specific triathlon skills and building fitness over all three sports.
The programme will include sessions at Pegasus so is an ideal preparation for the Primary Schools Triathlon at the end of November.

Heathcote CC Friday Night Junior Cricket

Heathcote CC Friday Night Junior Cricket is designed to give 5 to 8 year olds an introduction to cricket that may help them develop an interest and basic skills. Children older than this or with advanced skills are encouraged to join a Heathcote Junior Club team for Saturday Cricket.
Sessions run from 5:30pm to 6:30 pm followed by a sausage sizzle and social session. The bar is open from 5:30 pm to 8:00pm.
Fees are $50 for an individual child and $70 for two or more siblings.
New juniors enrolling receive a free cap and T-shirt. If you are returning member, please remember to bring your cap and T-shirt from last season.

Reminders:
Parents are expected to help in sessions from time-to-time and probably at a minimum of at least two sessions over the season. You do not need to be a cricketer and will be given advice on the night.
The club is entirely run by volunteers and this includes the coaches and bar and bbq staff. Please help them out whenever you can by lending a hand not only on the field as a coach but also cleaning up glassware, cans and other debris. Hot meals can also be ordered at the bar.
Please remember the club is providing cricket skills coaching and are not a day-care facility – children who disrupt training will be excluded from the sessions.

Aupaki Touch Module

From 19th October to the 14th December, Aupaki Touch (touch rugby) module will run for Heathcote Valley, Redcliff’s, Mt Pleasant, Sumner, Our Lady Star of the Sea, St Anne’s and Lyttelton as well as the inclusion of Linwood College Year 7-8 into the touch rugby tournament.

Grades 
Students can play in the following grades:
  • Yr 1&2 mixed to play at 3.30pm
  • Yr 3&4 mixed to play at 4.00pm (at least 2 girls on the field at all times)
  • Yr 5&6 mixed to play at 4.30pm (at least 2 girls on the field at all times)
  • Yr 7&8 mixed to play at 5.00pm (at least 2 girls on the field at all times)
