T@TT have been working hard on making connections between their central ideas and their learning. Research, interviews, visits, and discussions have been at the heart of their learning time at school - and out of school!
Here are just a few examples of our tamariki getting out into the community:
Georgia, James, Johan, and Noah are writing biographies after their visit to the RSA to interview a widow and a returned soldier. They are making connections to their central idea of; "War impacts on individuals and communities."
Ella, Kaspar, Kiera and Zeda have interviewed a Year 8 student who is a refugee to NZ, as part of their central idea; "Human migration is the result of opportunity or conflict."
Zach, Sam, Archie and Jake are conducting a transportation experiment in the city, to see who can get across town the fastest, in their investigation into; "Transportation depends on the environment to function effectively."
Eliza, Sailor and Andie held a bake sale to raise money to fund a DNA test to find out more about their central idea; "We are stronger when we know where we come from and what influences where we we could go."
