What a night! 16 bands from around Christchurch all competing to be the best band! Te Kura o Paeraki | Mt Pleasant School were proudly represented by 3 bands.

Our first band on stage was Soundstorm performing "Clocks" by Cold Play and "Living on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi. Vocalists Zara  and Isabella rose to the challenge of these big songs and did us very proud! Zoe came to the rescue and did a phenomenal job on drums replacing Cooper due to illness. Xa was super solid on bass, while guitarist Mason and Neve played tightly as a unit with Edie Eloise outstanding on the keyboard. An awesome performance!

Next onto stage was "A" Major who performed "Glitter" by Benee and "Two Flares" by Nomad. The judges recognised how tricky these two songs were to perform by these young students and gave big praise to Johnny who played guitar, bass and keyboard through the two songs. It was a superb performance by new guitarists Archie, Mahé and Kai. Ava kept a strong beat on the drums and the judges noted the sweet vocals of Scarlett, Emily and Paige that sat well together. The judges felt this was an ambitious tune and praised them for doing an amazing job. As a very new band, they rocked!

Last performance of the night was "Ice Cold" who played "It's Times Like These" by Foo Fighters and "Where Is My Mind" by The Pixies . Great vocals from Willow and Sylvie with great vibes from bass player Sam. The judges noticed some sweet guitar lines from Oscar and Theo. A stunning performance!

Coming away with a prize was Mason for his amazing lead guitar performance. The judges were very impressed noting his great guitar solo.

Overall it was a fabulous evening with amazing talent!
