from the Kearns family —

Message of thanks from the Kearns Family to the Mt Pleasant School Community

Words cannot adequately express the sincere gratitude we feel towards those who stepped up to assist Anne at the cross country last week. So many of you came selflessly to her aid; whether to administer first aid, seek assistance, to help the St John's Staff, or to create a 'screen' around her. We have also been blown away by the messages of support. We do not want to name names for fear of leaving anyone out as we do realise there were so many of you who played a part in ensuring Anne's safety, comfort, and privacy, at such a challenging time.

We would like to acknowledge Chris Nord for his tremendous leadership and decision making under pressure. We know that Chris and all the staff had a large group of children to manage during all the uncertainty. They all exhibited great professionalism and compassion.

It is pleasing to report that Anne is 'on the mend,' thanks to the miracles of modern medicine, and the outstanding care she received at Christchurch Public Hospital. She is most humbled by all that was done to help her.

We give thanks for being part of such a wonderful community. We are all relieved that the cross country was able to finally go ahead and appreciate everyone's patience!
