A couple of weeks back, we had a number of runners represent MPS at the SE Zones Cross Country, which was held down the hill at Ferrymead Park. 

Conditions were fairly cool and the track itself was challenging to say the least, although many would say it was a true cross country course! 

I was really impressed with the efforts of all the MPS athletes and you all demonstrated plenty of commitment, enthusiasm and good old-fashioned grit. Thank you also to the wonderful family and friends who came along and supported throughout the races. I’m sure that all involved would have slept well that night, although those responsible for the washing may not have been quite so pleased!

A solid number of MPS runners have progressed through to the next stage - the CPS Cross Country Champs, to be held at Halswell Quarry on Wednesday 21 June (Week 8). There, they will represent the SE Zone and will battle against all of the other top runners from across Canterbury. Go well team!
