#40HOURNZ
The countdown to the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge is on! It's simple: every child deserves clean water.
It's hard to believe that in 2023, 1 in 5 children worldwide still don't have enough clean water to get through the day.
Every day, 800 tamariki die because of diseases related to dirty water. Together, we can change that!
The World Vision 40 Hour Challenge is happening at the end of Week 8 Term 2, from Friday 16 – Sunday 18 June.
Our World Vision Leaders invite all Year 3-8 Te Kura o Paeraki students to join them in the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge and help change a child’s world with improving access to clean water. Every drop of action counts.
How do you sign up?
Join the Mt Pleasant Team here to create your own fundraising page or link your page to the school to meet to meet our target of raising S10,000 together. Share and email your page link to your family and friends and ask them to share it on their social media accounts.
Plus, from 4pm on Wednesday 7 June, all donations you receive online will be matched dollar for dollar by Sanitarium, until World Vision reaches $50,000! That means a $20 donation becomes $40, and $50 becomes $100 towards your team’s total goal!**
Your challenge
Every year since 1975, tens of thousands of young Kiwis have taken a stand through a 40 Hour Challenge to raise money and bring hope to thousands of children living in poverty in more than 40 countries.
Some participants choose to give up something for 40 hours, like technology, furniture, or talking. Many children don’t have running water at home. Could you go 40 hours without using any taps? Or, you could get creative, by living out of a backpack or doing 40 acts of kindness– whatever your idea is, just go for it!
Right now, your World Vision 40 Hour Challenge is your chance to change a child's world with clean water. 40 hours? Challenge accepted!
For more information take a look at the Word Vision 40 Hour Challenge page here, or ask your World Vision Leaders and teachers at school. Our World Vision Leaders will also be available at lunch time at school to help you sign up online.
Thank you so much Te Kura o Paeraki for the incredible difference you are making!
Brought to you by your World Vision leaders,
Liberty, Emily, Lilly-Marie, and Sylvie
