Having won our SE Zone Tournament, we have now qualified to compete at the Qualification/ Canterbury Rippa-Rugby Tournament. Thank you to all of the parents and whanau who either helped with transport or those who supported on the sidelines. You’re positive comments were well received. I am already looking forward to doing it all again in a couple of weeks time!

Last Tuesday we entered at team into the Yr 5/ 6 SE Zone Rippa-Rugby Tournament. As a result of the challenging weather and ground closures, the event was transferred from St Leonard’s Park to the back field of Van Asch. It was wonderful to go ahead with the tournament given the postponement the previous week. 

The team played well as a team and our numerous practices proved highly valuable as we played an attractive brand of running rugby - combined with excellent defence. Without sounding slightly biased, we were clearly the most organised and well-drilled of the teams on display. 

The results were as follows:

🏆  Game 1 ~ Won 10-3 vs Te Waka Unua

🏆  Game 2 ~ Won 9-7 vs Sumner

🏆  Game 3 ~ (Final) Won vs 10-7 vs Redcliffs

The team consisted of the following players:
