SE Zones Athletics

Jeremy Griffiths - November 14, 2023

The familiar Hansen Park played host yet again to the SE Zone Athletics on Tuesday 07 November.

We were very fortunate with the weather despite some heavy rain over the weekend. In fact, the weather was almost perfect throughout the day. There were a number of tight tussles across the day with the other top competitors from the contributing schools. I was extremely impressed with the way in which our athletes competed and the level of pride displayed in representing Te Kura o Paeraki/ Mt Pleasant School.

Special congratulations to all of the 21 following athletes who managed a top placing (1st or 2nd) in their various individual events:

These athletes will progress through to the Canterbury Primary Athletics, which will be held at the Ngā Puni Wai facility on Wednesday 29 November (Week 8). They will represent our kura and the wider SE Zone against other top athletes from the wider province and we wish them all the very best of luck…go well. Karawhiua – give it heaps!

Thank you to Mrs Chubb and Jacqui who helped manage our team across the day and for kindly entering results. Finally, one last thank you… to the wonderfully supportive parents who cheered trackside and also helped ensure the athletes got to their respective events on time.
