Art Gallery Awesomeness

Room 1 & 2 —

Room 1 and 2 visited the Christchurch Art Gallery. We looked at shapes and patterns in Maori art works and sculptures. We then created our own shape and pattern panels which can be seen in our classrooms. We had a fantastic day!

Room 1 left school to go to the Art Gallery but before they could go there they had to have lunch. Room 1 had lunch at the Botanical Gardens and a play. There was a humungous tree for Room 1 to play on. Then everyone walked down the road to the art gallery. The tamariki got to see the tukutuku panels. Everyone had a meaning. One was Mt Cook. Room 1 had a very fun day.

Room 1 went on the bus to the gardens. My friends played soccer and everyone climbed a tree. Then Room 1 walked to the art gallery. Room 1 saw tukutuku panels. After that the children made their own art. Finally we went back to school.
