Friday 21 September - Gala Evening, followed by Art Exhibition Saturday 22 September!

The SE Zone Winter Tournament was held last Wednesday at various locations around South Hagley Park. Approximately ten schools took part in the tournament, which made for some quality match-ups.

We are excited to offer a parenting workshop offering strategies for parents who want to change the behaviours they (and their child!) struggle with. Workshop numbers are limited to no more than 20 parents, but we still a few spaces left!!

Room 1 and 2 enjoyed a scooter morning as part of their inquiry “Transport”. We spent the morning enjoying a course to follow. This led to amazing writing about what a scooter sounds and feels like. A big thank you to Kate Campell for the help in setting our course.

We have had a large number of enquiries about the possibility of being able to run the STEPS programme at home. We are currently gauging interest from you as to whether we can go ahead with this.

The Lit Quiz group had the wonderful opportunity to listen to six New Zealand Authors talk about their latest books. These books have made the short list in this year’s awards.

We have had lots of amazing positive feedback on our latest road safety initiative. Thank you so much for your support in keeping our tamariki safe! We've had lot of requests for pictures of our signs....here are a selection of our favourites...

Boys baking club meets every Thursday lunchtime to share ( taste!) the yummy baking the boys have done that week. Prizes are given out to the boys for showing creativity and risk taking when baking.

A huge thank you to Greg Boock from New World, Woolston for providing a number of tickets for this Friday night’s ‘game of three halves’ rugby game, featuring the All Blacks, Canterbury and Otago sides. I’m sure that those heading along will enjoy themselves a lot!

Back in June Sascha & Lila competed in the Root to Tip Cooking Competition and came an amazing 2nd place.... they were very proud to receive letters of congratulations from local MP Nuk Korako over the school holidays. Well done girls!

Book Week this year is taking place mid-September, celebrating The Magic of Books....culminating with our famous book parade on Friday, September 14.

Mt Pleasant Oscar will be operating from 8.30-5.30 on the day of the proposed Teacher Strike Wed 15 August 2018. We totally support the strike action of teachers, but also wanted to continue to offer our service to those who need it on this day. Usual day fees will apply.
