MPS Senior Swimming Sports 2017

Jeremy Griffiths —

It was another simply stunning summer day as the Sumner School Pool played host to yet another Mt Pleasant School Senior Swimming Sports.

The event began with breaststroke, moved onto backstroke, followed by freestyle and then finally the challenging butterfly. Once all of the individual strokes were completed we then had the whole-of-houserelays, starting with the girls and finishing with the boys.

At the end of the day the honours this time around went in favour of Hornbrook House on 5550pts. They were followed closely by Morten House on 5475pts, then came Thomas House on 5175pts and Cannon House on 3675pts.

It was a great event and it was particularly pleasing to see plenty of enthusiasm, commitment as well as many students challenging themselves to be a risk-taker as they took on various events.

Congratulations to those who have successfully progressed through to represent Mt Pleasant School at the next level of competition – the SE Zone Swimming Champs on Friday 17 March at Jellie Park. Good luck and go well!

Thank you also to the wonderful folk who kindly helped out on the day and those who supported poolside.
