Recently two Nayland students represented Tasman at the Athletics NZ Championships in Hastings. They performed fantastically well for young athletes competing in the Under 18 Grade:

Micayla Whiti (15 yrs old) 4th in both the very strong 100 and 200m finals with two personal best times.

Josie Tappenden ( 14 yrs old) 9th in 400m – just missing final. Equalled her personal best.

Unfortunately with the regional and South Island athletics being cancelled, this ends their domestic seasons, with a potential trip to the Australia Age Grade Champs still a possibility.
