Nayland College staff enjoyed the Gold Sponsors Corporate box at the recent Mike Pero Nelson Giants versus Steelformers Taranaki Airs NBL basketball game at Trafalgar Centre on Monday 7 June.

Sponsored by Probrands, Anthony Martin hosted staff as they enjoyed watching ex-student Tysxun Ailupotea from the courtside table. Tysxun, a keen basketballer playing for Nayland prior to leaving school in 2019, relished the opportunity to play out the final quarter in a dominating and powerful performance by the home team on Monday. Sam Dempster, also a ex-student and prior coach at Nayland, featured strongly in the starting lineup and assisted strongly at leading his team to victory in a convincing win, 100-86.
