Brodie makes a splash at the Coast to Coast as the youngest competitor

Nayland College Official —

At 16yrs old, Brodie Seelen was the youngest competitor to take part in the two day individual Kathmandu Coast to Coast event last weekend.

Completing the event as the youngest competitor in his event was an achievement in itself but that wasn't the only win for Brodie. With a time of 14 hours and 27 minutes, he came 4th overall in the 18yrs and under section, missing 3rd place by only five minutes. More than that though, he has qualified for the one day event, which was his original goal in competing. To qualify, Brodie had to come in under 15 and a half hours which he reached easily with over an hour to spare.

Brodie's next goal is to be allowed to compete in the longest day event however he will have to wait a year and a half until he turns 18 to be able to do so. In the meantime, he is fired up and training hard already for next year's Coast to Coast, hoping to shave those extra few minutes off his time to take one of the top placings.
