Free fares campaign

Nayland College Official —

Year 12 students Lovinia Pluck and Pippa Sussex would love your support as they add their weight to a nationwide campaign to see free fares offered to tertiary students, under 25’s and community service card holders.

Free Fares Nelson is putting together a petition asking central government to subsidise school bus fee’s and we need your help. As part of a nationwide campaign to get free public transport for under 25’s, community services card holders and tertiary students, Free Fares Nelson sees a growing need to lower the prices of school bus fares, which are rising to unaffordable prices. This is because private bus companies need to keep up with inflation and increased fuel prices but it ends up unfairly targeting students at our kura.

IMPACT STATEMENTS

Impact statements explaining how free fares would help you as an individual, are an important part of convincing central government that action needs to be taken. If a free school bus would be impactful for you and your family, then we want to hear from you.

Email 19151@nayland.school.nz (Pippa) or 19074@nayland.school.nz (Lovinia) with an explanation of the difference it would make in your life and keep an eye out for an upcoming petition to help support your community.

Your contributions to this cause could make a massive difference! We look forward to working with you.
