Aotearoa New Zealand’s Histories Curriculum

Amelia Bright —

The Kaiako in the Nayland College Social Sciences Learning Area are ready to implement the new Aotearoa New Zealand Histories Curriculum in 2023.

This new curriculum has been embedded within the social studies programme, to further enrich learning in Year 9 and 10 at Nayland.

Local history in Te Tau Ihu provides relevant opportunities for learning across the rohe to engage our ākonga. Students will continue to develop their understanding of Aotearoa’s past to critically reflect on how it continues to shape our nation today.

Please watch this short video to learn more about the new curriculum and the learning opportunities it offers our rangatahi. https://vimeo.com/686077405

Me tiro whakamuri, kia anga whakamua.

If we want to shape Aotearoa New Zealand’s future, start with our past.
