And the best house is...

Duncan McKinlay —

Pegasus! For the second year in a row, the horse has bolted ahead, decisively taking out the house competition over second place getter, Aquila.

House points were decided from a variety of competitions and activities that students participated in throughout the year, such as house day, athletics day, capture the flag, the cross country and the spring festival. Students could also win points for their house by being awarded SOAR tickets, which are issued to students who are displaying positive behaviour across the school.

The final points tally was as follows:

Draco House - 611

Phoenix - 658

Aquila - 666

Pegasus - 708

Head of House, David Munro, was proud of his house for proving that last year was no fluke.

"I am incredibly proud to have led Pegasus to our second House Cup in as many years, and our third ever success," Mr Munroe said. "This victory is a result of the hard work of our previous Head of House Dixie McDonald, Pegasus House Leaders Liam Hunter and Natania Ngawhau, our House Captains, and the rest of the Crazy Horses. I look forward to completing the three-peat in 2021," he said confidently.

Mr Munroe will have his work cut out for him, as the competition next year will grow to include one more as yet unnamed house, making it a five house competition. There is also set to be an overhaul of the house system.
