Learning centre crew crowned football winners
The most recent Special Olympics event was held the week before last at Saxton Field Stadium.
The Special Olympics are held once and term and they bring schools from across the Nelson / Tasman and Marlborough regions together. Football was the chosen sport for this event and the result for the Nayland team was something to be proud of when the came home winners of the competition.
Learning Centre teacher Chris Baillie said that all the team played really well and showed outstanding sportsmanship. They also wowed the other schools with the haka they performed at the end.
Next on the calendar is preparing for the the basketball event to be held in Term 3.
