Students Russell Sarginson, Rose Leighton, Jayden Day-Anthonise and Duncan Petre, alongside staff members Andy Walker, Carl Sheehan and Kay MacKenzie, have been dusting off their running shoes to clock up the km’s and get our musicians to the WeBO festival in September.

WeBO stands for the Wellington Band and Orchestra Festival which is a National event whereby school ensembles compete in Concert Band, Jazz Band, Chamber and Orchestra categories.

Over the last two years our instrumental musicians have been extremely resilient. They have continued to work towards numerous performance goals that could not eventuate due to covid-related circumstances and had to adapt to last minute changes such as virtual events replacing live ones. Therefore, getting them to this competition in Wellington would be such a tremendous opportunity and a rightful occasion to celebrate their skills.

We would appreciate any donations to sponsor our two relay teams of four doing the Monaco mid-winter marathon on Sunday 26 June.

If you would like to sponsor a particular student, which will deduct money directly from the amount they owe for the trip, please add their name i.e. ‘We Bolt + [name]’ onto the reference for our information.
