PE hits the slopes

PE teacher Bruno Watkins —

A mixture of Level 2 and 3 physical education students, headed to Rainbow Ski field on two separate days in term 3.

We had two vastly different weather conditions across both days with a clear blue sky on day one, while the second day was quite icy.  Although the weather was challenging, with very little sun and visibility at times, the students still hit the slopes showing resilience and enthusiasm.

All students received a lesson pitched at their level. For some, it was about extending their skills  while for others, it was developing them.

It was encouraging to see so many ‘first timers’ giving it a go. The hope is that the experience sparks further involvement in snow sports and physical activity in general.

The day was a fantastic opportunity to see students in a new environment, challenging themselves to both learn and refine their snowboard and skiing skills. It was a great day had by all.
