Are you our next Student Representative to the Board?

Or do you know someone who should be? Nominations are open for the election of one student representative to the school board.

Nominations

A nomination form and a copy of this notice are being issued to all eligible voters on the student roll. If you need more nomination forms, contact the Student Support Centre or Business Centre, or email sarah.gwyn@nayland.school.nz

Nominations close at noon on Monday 19 August.

Information on who is not eligible to be a board member is provided with the nomination form.

Voting roll

The voting roll is held at the school office and can be viewed during normal school hours.

Candidate Statement

If you are a candidate, you are invited to submit an optional statement (up to 400 words) and photo. Make sure your statement is received by noon on Monday 19 Augustso that it can be sent to voters with the voting papers.

The returning officer may remove or edit any part of the candidate’s statement if it exceeds 400 words or is offensive or defamatory.

List of candidates

There will also be a list of candidates’ names kept at the school office up until election day.

Voting

Voting will take place during tutor time on Wednesday 4 September. Late votes will be accepted at reception until 4pm Monday 9 September.

Scrutineers

A candidate may nominate a person to sit with the returning officer during the vote count to make sure it is done correctly. Please advise the returning officer in writing of your scrutineer’s name and contact details before election day. Candidates cannot be scrutineers.
