The Wicked Tooth Fairy is in flight!

Whanake Youth & Nayland College —

Wicked Tooth Fairy is an exciting new service, recently launched at Nayland College by Whanake Youth. We are a youth health and wellbeing charitable trust who aim to ensure our local young people have timely and youth appropriate access to health and wellbeing services.

With this service we help remove barriers to accessing dental services, and support adolescents to continue to establish a healthy relationship with dental services, which they can carry with them into adulthood.

Wicked Tooth Fairy is currently working alongside three local secondary schools: Garin College, Nayland College and Nelson College. Students are identified through surveys in schools and professional referrals. We then liaise with the schools, students and caregivers and dental practices to arrange an appointment.

Our van, driven by fantastic volunteer drivers, provides a free dental transport service by collecting up to six young people from school at a time. The team are on hand to help the young people with filling out forms, answering their questions, calming nerves and providing a free toothbrush & toothpaste!

If you would like your child to be included in this free service please contact Ruth at Whanake Youth ruth.rogers@whanakeyouth.org.nz
