Students delighted to deliver donation

Sarah Luton —

A group of Year 12 students got the added bonus of a cuddle with some puppies when they delivered over $1200 in cash on behalf of the eight Level 2 Business Studies businesses this week.

Over the past term eight groups of Level 2 Business Studies students have been making and baking all kinds of delicious food to sell to students and staff during lunchtimes and intervals. Their job was to come up with a product idea, make the product, market it and sell it around school. We've seen tasty cinnamon rolls, brownies, wraps, waffles, cookies, sushi, cheeseburger sliders and more being promoted up and down the driveway.

Having sold all their products, the eight groups pooled their profits and discussed which charity they wanted to support with the money raised. The vote was 6 to 2 in favour of supporting the SPCA and on Wednesday this week, Ronan Gridley, Hayden Rose, Mackenzie Dyer, Case Cant, Ryan Brash, Jared Clarke, Zac Puklowski, Shaun Campagnolo, Ethan Musika, Luca Varricchio and Chantel Vincent-Smith traveled up to the SPCA with teachers Mr Lineham and Mr King to hand deliver $1264.60 in cash as a donation to support the charity.

Getting to cuddle puppies was a total bonus!

SPCA Manager Donna Walzl was absolutely blown away by the donation.

"It's wonderful, means a lot and it goes a long way to helping us raise these guys (the puppies) and find them the best possible home. It's really really amazing, thank you, thanks for thinking of us," she said. "It's really great to know that we're actually known in the community and you guys think of us too."
