11 Nayland College Students headed up the ski fields Wednesday to compete in the Top of the South Secondary School Ski and Snowboard Championships

The sunny and calm conditions made it a perfect day for the competition. There were over 80 students from the top of the south island competing in the championship and the Nayland College athletes did not disappoint. 

In the snowboarding competition Nayland student, Leon Nichols took out 2nd place while Jesse Richardson placed 3rd. In the Ski competition standout Tino Monopoli had huge success placing 2nd in a large competitive group. Tino who is only a year 11 student at the school has two more years to win this title.

In the teams event Nayland continued its success with the Boys ski team placing 2nd overall and the mixed ski team placing 3rd.
