Farm visit a hit with students

Student Journalist Lachlan Rout —

Over the past few weeks, students from the Learning Support Center have been visiting a couple of local farms. Student journalist Lachlan Rout reported back on their two exciting trips.

On the 13th of November, the LSC class went to staff member Mrs Ganassin's farm out near the Moutere. She had a multiple array of animals, including some cats, Japanese Spitz dogs and puppies, chickens, peacocks and peahens, sheep and lambs and a pig named Ms Piggy.

We got to pat all the animals including the Spitz puppy, Yuki. I helped her gather lots of eggs. We took lots of nice photos of the animals.

Afterwards, the class went to Rabbit Island to eat our morning tea and have a fun time there. Sadly, after eating our lunch, we had to come back to school. I hope we could go back if and when she gets new animals. The Learning Support Center really enjoyed going out to Mrs G's farm.

Then, on Friday the 20th of November, we went to LSC class member Ben Churchill's family farm at Delaware Bay. On their farm, they have a multiple array of animals including goats, cattle, chickens, sheep and lambs, horses, a dog and two cats.

We got there in two school vans and had lunch on the veranda attached to his house. After we ate lunch, we drove to the private beach. We stayed there for about 35 minutes and then we drove back to their farm and took a class photo with Rebecca (Ben's mother.) We gave her a bouquet of fresh flowers. The class were very grateful for being able to go out to Ben's farm.
