Nayland’s sweeping GOLD

Nayland College has had a number of recent wins across a variety of sports.

Over the last few weeks, there have been some more outstanding sporting results - well done to the following teams and individuals!

Netball

10th - 11th March

  • Nayland “A” Netball team won four from four games over the weekend at a tournament.

Volleyball

Term 1

  • Nayland Senior B Girls Volleyball team came out victorious in Division 1 after their Term 1 season.
  • Nayland Junior 10A Boys Volleyball team came out victorious in Division 1 after their Term 1 season.
  • Nayland Junior Maroon Girls Volleyball team came out victorious in Division 1 after their Term 1 season.

Athletics

25th – 26th March

  • Micayla Whiti came Third in the Senior Women’s Relay at National Track and Field Athletics.

10th - 11th March

  • Micayla Whiti came First in U15 Girls 100m and 200m at South Island Secondary School Athletics.
  • Josephine Tappenden came First in U14 Girls 400m at South Island Secondary School Athletics.
  • Ellie Beaver came Third in U14 Girls High Jump and 7th in 800m.

Adventure race

10th March

Xanthe Robb, Erica Batchelor and Ella Dawson along with NCG student Freya High placed third in Spirited Women short course adventure race on Saturday (open women’s division).  The event involves navigating 30 checkpoints by Kayak, Mountain Bike and Run.
